Weaponized, wasteful bureaucracy

In 2022, when I held fifteen town halls across my district, I expected to hear about the cost of gas and groceries or our open southern border (and I certainly did!), but the number one concern I heard was the weaponization of our government against its own citizens.

Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore co-sponsored the Sgt. Steve Owen Defending Our Defenders Act, introduced by Rep. Mike Garcia (CA-27). This strong piece of legislation aims to protect our law enforcement officers by making the murder of a state or local officer a federal felony, punishable by life in prison or even the death penalty.

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted in favor of the 2024 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Bill. This legislation provides new non-defense discretionary spending totaling $25.417 billion, which is 35% below the 2023 bill and $21.371 billion below the President's Budget Request. This bill reins in federal spending while prioritizing critical needs, and ends Biden's job-killing Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule.
