Rep. Barry Moore opposes CR: "Americans can't afford more of the status quo"

November 14, 2023

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted against H.R. 6363, a continuing resolution (CR) which extends government funding through January 19, 2024, for Agriculture, Energy and Water, Military Construction and VA, and Transportation and Housing appropriations bills. The CR extends all other appropriations until February 2, 2024. This resolution funds the government at the same levels decided by President Biden and Speaker Pelosi in 2021. The CR also funds Farm Bill programs through September 30, 2024.

“Our country is nearly $34 trillion in debt, and more than 60% of American families are living paycheck-to-paycheck," said Moore. "I voted against this continuing resolution because it contains no spending cuts, and Americans simply cannot afford more of the status quo. I am committed to working with Speaker Johnson to advance the last five of twelve appropriations bills that contain significant spending cuts, and a Farm Bill that prioritizes the needs of our producers."
