The Moore You Know Ag Update
Hi, friends –
In conjunction with a continuing resolution for government funding, the 2018 Farm Bill and several orphan programs – authroizations with mandatory funding but without permanent budget baseline – were extended for another year. Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted in favor of H.Res.793, a resolution sponsored by Rep. Haley Stephens (MI-11) calling on Hamas to immediately release hostages taken during the October 2023 attack on Israel. An estimated 240 hostages were taken by Hamas, and only about 75 of them have been released so far.
Biden's Iran problem
As we give thanks for our many blessings this week, I am thinking of the 240 hostages taken by Hamas, and their families praying for them to be released. Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted against H.R. 6363, a continuing resolution (CR) which extends government funding through January 19, 2024, for Agriculture, Energy and Water, Military Construction and VA, and Transportation and Housing appropriations bills. The CR extends all other appropriations until February 2, 2024.
Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted against killing a privileged resolution sponsored by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) that would begin impeachment proceedings against Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas. Rep. Moore is also a co-sponsor of this resolution.
Weaponized, wasteful bureaucracy
In 2022, when I held fifteen town halls across my district, I expected to hear about the cost of gas and groceries or our open southern border (and I certainly did!), but the number one concern I heard was the weaponization of our government against its own citizens.
Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) is joined by Rep. Don Davis (NC-01) to introduce bipartisan legislation establishing a commission to modernize the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS).
