Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL) issued the following statement after Kevin McCarthy was elected by the House of Representatives as its Speaker. Moore supported McCarthy after intensive months-long negotiations between Republican leadership and the House Freedom Caucus which yielded significant reform to the rules governing the operation of the House. After the vote, Moore was sworn in to the 118th Congress with his colleagues.

Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL) issued the following statement after voting against the omnibus spending bill that passed the House this afternoon and is heading to the President’s desk. Instead of the timely consideration and passage of twelve separate appropriations bills, Congress punted the FY2023 spending bill until the lame-duck session by passing legislation extending previous spending levels past the original September deadline until this month.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14) requesting an audit of all American taxpayer dollars sent to Ukraine. $54 billion has been sent to Ukraine from the United States since the beginning of the conflict despite little accountability measures tied to the funds, and recently President Joe Biden has requested an additional $38 billion from Congress.
