The Moore You Know Newsletter: November 2021

December 2, 2021
Newsletter

Welcome to our November wrap-up newsletter. This month was stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey with trillions of dollars of spending on far-Left policies that will cripple future generations with debt. More on that below. However, I’m proud that I was able to lead a bipartisan effort to help our veterans and their families.

Our values and way of life are under attack, but I promise that I will continue to fight for you, your family, and Alabama’s 2ndCongressional District.

Please visit the Events page on our website to stay informed on all of our events in the district.

Keep reading for the full update.

Signing bill

Honoring U.S. Army Colonel John McHugh

I was honored that the Senate version of my bill, the Colonel John M. McHugh Tuition Fairness for Survivors Act of 2021, passed the House. This legislation will expand education benefits available to veterans to surviving beneficiaries. Watch my floor speech here. Some Members of the House go an entire career without getting a bill to the President’s desk, so I am especially proud to be able to do this for our veterans and their families.

Democrats’ unprecedented spending spree

I voted NO on the Democrats’ massive multi-trillion-dollar reconciliation bill. This bill is filled with troubling provisions that will harm the American taxpayers. I also voted NO on the phony ‘infrastructure’ bill that saddles Alabamians with the check for spending on urban parks and pet projects.

Veterans Telephone Town Hall

Thank you to everyone who joined our Veterans Telephone Town Hall! I had a wonderful time answering your questions and discussing some of the toughest challenges facing our veterans and our country. If you missed the event, you can watch here. I’ll hold more of these, so stay tuned.

Vaccine Mandates

President Biden’s vaccine mandates are a blatant overreach of the federal government. In hearings, letters, and press conferences, I am proud to be one of the strongest and most consistent voices in Washington amplifying the American people’s opposition to vaccine mandates, and I will continue to do all I can to fight against them and to protect your freedoms.

Advocating for our Small Businesses

I also wrote a letter to the small business Administrator Guzman to bring attention to challenges associated with the Small Business Administration’s COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and requested an update on efforts to improve and streamline the program. My office has received a variety of requests from small business owners. I will continue to help small businesses recover from the impacts of COVID-19.

Thanksgiving Tax

Gas prices are soaring, and shelves across the country are bare as inflation continues to rise. Thanksgiving 2021 was one of the most expensive meals in the history of the holiday. The sky-high inflation around Thanksgiving is directly related to the outrageous spending by the Democrat policies.

Protecting life

I am proud to be an original co-sponsor of the Conscience Protection Act, which would strengthen the rights of healthcare providers to object to medical procedures, namely abortion, that they hold serious moral or religious objections to. No healthcare providers should be forced by their employees to give a medical procedure against their moral and religious objections.
