Rep. Barry Moore votes against Democrats' radical 'infrastructure' bill

November 6, 2021

Washington, D.C. — Early this morning, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) voted against passage of the Democrats' $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill. Moore also voted against a procedural motion to provide a path forward for the Democrats multi-trillion dollar tax-and-spend reconciliation bill. Speaker Pelosi linked the two bills together to ensure passage of the even larger reconciliation package.

Around midnight last night, I voted against President Biden and Speaker Pelosi’s 'infrastructure' bill that only directs about 10 percent of its total spending to traditional infrastructure, with less than half of that going to roads and bridges," said Moore. "The bulk of this bill's spending goes towards the Democrats' radical progressive wish list and giveaways to urban Democrat districts, including millions for projects in Speaker Pelosi's home district.

"Not only was this so-called infrastructure bill bad legislation, but because of the deal struck between Pelosi and her caucus members, a vote for the infrastructure bill was also a vote to grease the wheels for Democrats to pass their wildly expensive socialist reconciliation bill. I stand with the American people in strongly opposing the Democrats' radical agenda, and I will continue fighting against efforts to expand Big Government at the expense of our individual freedoms."
