Rep. Barry Moore votes in support of the 2026 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act
Washington D.C. - Representative Barry Moore (AL-01) voted in support of H.R. 4553, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026. This legislation strengthens Alabama’s Gulf Coast and America’s energy security.
“This bill delivers for Alabama's First Congressional District by funding the Army Corps of Engineers, so they are able to make improvements to our ports, flood control, and hurricane protection, all of which are vital to our Gulf Coast region,” said Moore. “This legislation also advances nuclear security, modernizes our grid, and keeps American energy affordable. This bill funds meaningful results for Alabama families and our nation.”
The Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026 will:
- Safeguard U.S. national security, unleash American energy dominance, and advance economic competitiveness by providing $57.3 billion in Fiscal Year 2026, which is $766.4 million below the Fiscal Year 2025 enacted level.
- Champion America's nuclear deterrent, including providing more than $20 billion for the continued modernization of the nuclear weapons stockpile and infrastructure.
- Codify President Trump's executive actions on DEI, Critical Race Theory, and end federal censorship of free speech.
- Support one of the largest infrastructure investments focused on mining production technologies for critical minerals extraction in decades, reducing reliance on foreign sources.
