Rep. Barry Moore tours Maxwell Air Force Base new air traffic control tower

February 25, 2022

Montgomery, AL – Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) visited Maxwell Air Force Base on Thursday to examine the newly built state-of-the-art air traffic control tower. The new facility was built to replace the aging tower, which was one of the oldest in the entire US Air Force inventory and had served the base since its construction in 1955. The new tower will expand the base's capability to deliver unparalleled air traffic control capabilities to expand the effectiveness of Maxwell’s ability to serve a variety of aircraft, including its own F-35 fighters.
