Rep. Barry Moore supports Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act of 2025
Washington, D.C. – Representative Barry Moore (AL-01) announced his support for H.R. 747, the Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act of 2025. This legislation directly confronts the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for its role in fueling America’s fentanyl epidemic. The bill imposes tough sanctions on Chinese companies and individuals that manufacture or traffic fentanyl and other synthetic opioids into the United States.
“Every day, American families are being torn apart by fentanyl. It is now the number one killer of young adults in our country, and we know much of it has been flowing here from China and through Biden's wide-open southern border,” said Moore. "President Trump has secured our southern border, but Congress must also go after China’s role in flooding our streets with poison. This is a national security issue, a public health issue, and a fight for the future of our kids. Alabama families deserve a government that will stand up to China and stop this crisis at its source.”
The Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act of 2025 will:
- Sanction Chinese entities involved in the production or distribution of fentanyl.
- Freeze assets of sanctioned individuals and companies.
- Restrict their access to the U.S. financial system.
- Empower U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies to better track and disrupt fentanyl trafficking networks.
