Rep. Barry Moore supports Interior and Environment Appropriations Bill

July 25, 2024

Washington, D.C.- Rep. Barry Moore supported the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2025, a bill aimed at reducing federal spending while enhancing domestic energy production. This legislation requests $38.478 billion in funding, $72 million less than last year's budget, reflecting House Republicans' commitment to fiscal responsibility.

Importantly, the bill mandates the resumption of oil and gas lease sales and expands access to critical minerals, strengthening energy independence and creating jobs. It also blocks several costly EPA regulations, helping American businesses remain competitive without excessive government interference.

"From the oil fields of Midland to the Gulf Coast of Alabama, we need to unleash American energy and rein in wasteful spending," said Moore. "This legislation helps bring back fiscal responsibility and allows us to tap into our own resources and create more jobs, lower energy costs, and pave the way for a more prosperous America."

The FY25 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill:

Provides $8.43 billion for the U.S. Forest Service, which is $53.3 million above the FY24 enacted level and $492.8 million below the President’s Budget Request.

  • Reduces funding for the EPA by 20%.

  • Reins in the Biden Administration’s job-killing regulatory agenda.

  • Prohibits modifications to Corp of Engineers nationwide permits critical for oil and gas development.

  • Strengthens our national security and promotes domestic energy production.

  • Protects access to our public lands.

  • Supports American values and principles.

  • Focuses the Executive Branch on its core responsibilities
