Rep. Barry Moore supports FY26 NDAA dedicated to improving Servicemember quality of life

December 1, 2025

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Moore (AL-01) released a statement after voting to support, the Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026. The FY26 NDAA codifies President Trump's efforts to end left-wing ideology, wokeism, and DEI, improves quality of life for our servicemembers with a 3.8% pay raise and provides for over $20 billion in taxpayer savings.

I was also proud to cosponsor Representative Jimmy Patronis’ (FL-01) amendment which strengthens the FY26 NDAA by removing the Biden Administration's preference for electric and hybrid vehicles, ensuring that defense decisions are driven by reliability and mission needs rather than political agendas. This change keeps our national defense focused squarely on readiness, performance, and the tools our warfighters need to win and return home safely.

“I am proud to support this year's National Defense Authorization Act because it is a comprehensive step forward in keeping America safe and keeping our military strong," said Congressman Moore. "This bill provides our troops with the resources, training, and modern equipment they need to meet threats at home and abroad. It strengthens our readiness by ending DEI and rooting out Biden's woke policies, supports our veterans, and invests in the future of our national security. For Alabama families and communities, it means knowing our men and women in uniform are fully equipped to protect our freedom. Passing this legislation is a vote to protect American families and honor the service, sacrifice, and dedication of those who defend our nation every single day.”

Key provisions include:

  • Restoring lethality, meritocracy, and accountability within our armed forces by codifying efforts to end left-wing ideology, wokeism, and DEI practices.
  • A 3.8% pay raise for all servicemembers and reauthorizes military bonuses and special pay.
  • Authorizes over $1.4 billion for new construction of barracks and family housing.
  • Fully funding the deployment of the National Guard and active-duty troops in support of Border Patrol activities at the Southern Border.
  • Providing over $20 billion in savings, including $15 billion from DOGE-initiated reforms assumed in President Trump's budget request.
  • Funding to support President Trump's efforts to prepare our military for potential conflict in the Indo-Pacific and other theaters.
