Rep. Barry Moore supports FY24 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill
Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) released the following statement after supporting the FY24 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. This legislation focuses on our national security, energy production, and our nation’s economic competitiveness by reducing our dependence on foreign minerals and providing necessary funding to the Army Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation.
"This legislation provides funding to strengthen our national security and energy security while rescinding $5.58 billion in wasteful spending on projects designed to satisfy Biden's wealthy environmentalist base from his failed Inflation Reduction Act,” said Rep. Moore. “Furthermore, the bill eliminates Biden's disastrous WOTUS rule that wastes hard-earned taxpayer dollars and delays efforts to improve infrastructure and protect clean water – even on private lands."
Background:
The bill prioritizes funding for agencies and programs to support our national security, energy security, and economic competitiveness
Terminates the Biden Administration’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule, returning to state control of waterways that historically have not fallen under federal jurisdiction
Protects Americans against religious discrimination
Provides an increase in national defense spending
Cuts billions of dollars in wasteful spending from the Inflation Reduction Act
Prioritizes energy security and economic competitiveness
Prohibits the implementation, administration, or enforcement of the Biden Administration’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs
