Rep. Barry Moore supports Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025
Washington D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Barry Moore (AL-01) released the following statement after voting in favor of the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. This continuing resolution will keep the federal government open and allow the Trump Administration to implement President Trump's America First agenda.
This funding bill cuts non-defense discretionary spending by $13 billion, reducing the overall spending for FY25 below the FY24 levels. It also supports efforts to secure our southern border by providing $485 million to address shortfalls in immigration detention beds, transportation, and removal costs.
"House Republicans are committed to working with President Trump to fully execute his America First agenda," said Moore. "This continuing resolution kickstarts that effort by funding border security, ensuring a strong national defense, and freezing spending at current levels so we can cut waste, fraud, and abuse and reject the status quo of out-of-control spending.”
In addition to the above, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025:
- Allocates $1.6 billion to support a pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers.
- Allocates $2.5 billion to support the completion of 28 Navy vessels, with some of this going to Austal USA's Alabama programs.
- Rescinds over $20 billion in IRS funding.
- Provides $6 billion in mandatory funding for the Toxic Exposure Fund to fully meet veterans' health care needs.
