Rep. Barry Moore supports the Defending our Defenders Act

Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore co-sponsored the Sgt. Steve Owen Defending Our Defenders Act, introduced by Rep. Mike Garcia (CA-27). This strong piece of legislation aims to protect our law enforcement officers by making the murder of a state or local officer a federal felony, punishable by life in prison or even the death penalty.

“The Defund the Police movement and soft-on-crime policies from the far-left have put our law enforcement officers in more danger than ever,” said Rep. Moore. “This legislation sends a clear message: acts of violence against those who protect our communities will be met with punishment allowed to the fullest extent of the law. Our law enforcement stands for law and order in our communities, and we stand with them."
