Rep. Barry Moore supports bill protecting American farmland from Chinese adversaries

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) released a statement after voting in support of the Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act, introduced by Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA). This legislation adds the Secretary of Agriculture to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and to take necessary actions to prohibit the purchase of U.S. agricultural land by foreign adversaries.

“As someone who grew up on a farm and is now a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I know that food security is national security,” said Moore. “It's past time for us to protect the American people and help producers who are already feeling the effects of the Biden-Harris economy by preventing the Chinese Communist Party from buying up our farmland."
