Rep. Barry Moore: "Speaker Mike Johnson can unite us"
Washington, D.C. - Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) joined Newsmax American Agenda yesterday to applaud the election of Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA). Moore supported Johnson on the House floor.
From Rep. Moore's interview: "Mike Johnson can unite people. He's a dear friend of mine, we serve on Judiciary together, and he's a happy warrior. He's the kind of guy that can unite us and take strong stances without anyone taking it personally. I am honored to have Mike on board, it took us a minute to get here, but there is no doubt the nation will be better for having Speaker Mike Johnson during these trying times."
On the battle for the speakership: "If you ever put the American people last, that's where you cross Mike Johnson and our party. Mike is going to stand for what makes America great and we're going to support him. He's a man of faith. Listen, in the Republican conference, there was a divide, there's that old guard Republican group and we're $33 trillion in debt and they haven't passed [12] appropriations bills in 26 years. There are new majorities coming in and new leadership from populist districts saying 'Hey, we're tired of business as usual!' and that's why there was a battle behind the scenes. We came out as a winner with a true conservative leader, and it's great for our country, great for our party and great for the globe. When America is strong, the rest of the world is safe."
