Rep. Barry Moore pushes for answers from the Army on Fort Novosel funding

Washington, D.C.- Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Austin and Army Secretary Wormuth expressing his disappointment regarding the repeated cancellations of briefings that have been scheduled to discuss the reported reprogramming of funds away from the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) at Fort Novosel.

"As the Member of Congress representing Fort Novosel, it is my Constitutional duty to ensure the transparency and accountability of federal funding and provide answers to my constituents," said Moore. "Fort Novosel plays a critical role in our national security by training most of the Army's aviators and provides thousands of jobs for our local community. Hundreds of constituents have reached out in concern, and it is unacceptable that they have waited weeks to get answers from the Army about Fort Novosel's funding. I expect an explanation for the cancellation of previous briefings and ask for a formal briefing immediately regarding these rumors. My constituents, the people who work at and help fund the training at Fort Novosel, deserve answers."
