Rep. Barry Moore opposes rule for America last foreign aid package

April 19, 2024

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore voted to oppose the rule for a $95 billion foreign aid funding package that does not contain a single provision or dollar to secure the U.S. southern border. The House already passed $14.3 billion in aid to Israel in November 2023 with offsets, which Moore supported, but Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer refused to take up the legislation.

"I will not vote for legislation that sends $61 billion more to Ukraine while President Biden keeps our own southern border open to an invasion led by cartels, terrorists, and child traffickers,” said Moore. "There is a reason Biden and Schumer are celebrating this legislation -- it provides every cent of foreign aid they asked for and does not require them to take any action to secure our own border. The priority of the Republican-controlled House should be protecting American families, but this legislation puts America last."
