Rep. Barry Moore opposes America last Senate border bill
Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore released a statement in opposition to a so-called "border security bill" negotiated in the Senate. This legislation only shuts down the border after 5,000 people per day enter, provides $2.3 billion in taxpayer funds for refugees, increases green cards by 50,000 per year, and provides $60 billion to Ukraine while only providing $20 billion to secure our own border. Speaker Mike Johnson has already warned that the bill will be dead on arrival in the House of Representatives.
"President Biden doesn't need more money, power, or laws on the books to close our southern border," said Moore. "He has the authority to close the border anytime he wants, and hiding behind legislation is a poor excuse for endangering American families over the last three years. The decision to leave our border wide open and allow 8.5 million illegal encounters and 1.7 million gotaways lands squarely on Biden's shoulders. Furthermore, this legislation mentions Ukraine 370 times and provides them $40 billion more for security than it provides to our own border. I don't serve the United States of Ukraine, I serve the United States of America."
