Rep. Barry Moore opposes $460 billion minibus monstrosity

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore opposed a 1,050-page, $460 billion minibus monstrosity. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer praised the bill, which contains none of the cuts to the woke, weaponized and wasteful spending that House Republicans included in the seven appropriations bills they negotiated last year. This legislation is also loaded with $12.6 billion in earmarks and fails to secure our southern border.

"House Republicans secured massive wins for the American people in the seven appropriations bills we passed, including spending cuts to rein in our ballooning national debt,” said Moore. "This minibus monstrosity gives away those victories and includes no funding to end the chaos at our southern border. If we're going to secure the border and get our spending under control, we must stop handing victories to Schumer and Biden."

The Biden-Schumer minibus bill:

• Fails to defund the DOJ prosecution of presidential candidates

• Does not prohibit the construction of a new, massive Pentagon-sized FBI headquarters.

• Continues to fund the DOJ portion of the Biden Administration rule that expands asylum for migrants and continues to allow taxpayer dollars to be used to represent illegal aliens at removal proceedings, despite being defunded in the House GOP bill.

• Continues to fund the VA’s DEI offices, programs, and activities and continues to fund the promotion of CRT and discrimination based on race

• Fails to prohibit funding from going to Wuhan Institute of Virology, or other labs controlled by hostile governments like China

• Continues to fund Biden’s climate change executive orders, despite being defunded in the House GOP’s bills

• Continues to fund the implementation of Biden's WOTUS rule, despite being defunded in the House GOP bill.
