Rep. Barry Moore: "No border security, no government funding"

January 3, 2024

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Barry Moore signed the Immigration Accountability Project's 2024 Border Crisis Member Pledge. The pledge says Moore will not vote to fund the government until our southern border is secure. This makes his vote for funding the federal government's operations, or any supplemental funding bill, contingent upon the President signing legislation that will secure the border of the United States by, among other things, requiring all illegal aliens be fully detained for the duration of the adjudication of any claim, placed into expedited removal, or returned to Mexico.

"Last month alone, the United States saw the 302,000 illegal border crossings, the most in one month in our entire history -- this is an invasion," said Moore. "I will not fund a woke, weaponized, and wasteful government that is targeting the American people and allows dangerous criminals, child traffickers, and fentanyl traffickers to pour into our country and endanger American families. House Republicans passed H.R.2, the strongest border security bill in history, but President Biden and Majority Leader Schumer refuse to consider it. If enough Republicans stand with me and sign this pledge, we can pressure the Democrats to pass H.R. 2 and deliver the change we promised."
