Rep. Barry Moore joins resolution expressing disapproval of Biden's WOTUS rule

February 3, 2023

Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) recently joined Rep. Sam Graves (MO-06) in a Congressional Review Actresolution expressing disapproval of a new final rule defining "waters of the United States" (WOTUS) that was implemented quietly by the Biden Administration on the last working day of 2022.The new rule discounts a pending Supreme Court case on Sackett v. EPA, which will address the scope of agency authority granted by Congress in the Clean Water Act.

"Thanks to Biden's new rule, farmers, foresters, and landowners will need a lawyer, an engineer, and a whole lot of cash to figure out what constitutes a 'water of the United States'," said Moore. "Eliminating President Trump's clear WOTUS definition is all about satisfying President Biden’s radical, wealthy environmentalist base and will cause confusion, waste hard-earned taxpayer dollars, and delay efforts to improve infrastructure and protect clean water."
