Rep. Barry Moore hosts successful The Moore You Know Veteran Workshop and Jobs Fair
Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore, a member of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs, held his first The Moore You Know Veteran Workshop and Jobs Fair, an informative event designed to help AL02 veterans. Rep. Moore virtually delivered remarks thanking the many veterans in attendance and detailing how he and his office can be of assistance in cutting through bureaucratic red tape at the VA and other government agencies. Rep. Moore also honored World War II Veteran Richard “Dick” Schoof for his service during World War II and presented Schoof with a United States flag flown over the Capitol as well as an official copy of remarks submitted to the congressional record honoring his service. Numerous participants, including Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System, Leidos, VA-Veteran Service Officers, and several employment vendors, were able to provide assistance with a wide range of veteran needs and job opportunities. Veterans were also assisted with best practices for the long, often arduous task of VA Ratings Determination.
“Serving the veterans who have served us is one of my highest priorities, and I am so thankful for all those who turned out to make this inaugural event a success,” said Moore. “I hope that all our veterans will take full advantage of the many resources available to them, and I will continue working to generate awareness of those resources and to intervene directly with the federal government to ensure we honor our commitment to our nation’s veterans.”

As part of his commitment to serving our veterans, Rep. Moore plans to hold additional veteran workshops and job fairs throughout the district each year. Any veteran who was unable to attend today and is in need of assistance from Rep. Moore is encouraged to contact his office.
