Rep. Barry Moore denounces Speaker Pelosi’s attempt to silence Iowa voters
Washington, D.C.—This week, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) joined Secretary of State John Merrill, Reps. Mo Brooks (AL-05), Gary Palmer (AL-06), and Jerry Carl (AL-01) in sending a letter to Speaker Pelosi to address her attempts to silence voters in Iowa’s Second Congressional District.
“Speaker Pelosi’s attempt to disenfranchise voters in Iowa’s Second Congressional District by replacing Congresswoman Miller-Meeks with her own choice through a purely partisan effort undermines our elections process,” said Rep. Moore. “Further, the Speaker’s efforts to circumvent the will of Iowans, reverse her own admission that Congresswoman Miller-Meeks was rightfully elected, and invent a brand-new procedure to overturn the election results violates Federal law and forces Congresswoman Miller-Meeks to again prove she won her seat rather than placing the burden of proof where it belongs, with Ms. Hart. I’m proud to stand with Alabama's Secretary of State John Merrill and Reps. Mo Brooks (AL-05), Gary Palmer (AL-06), and Jerry Carl (AL-01) to call out Speaker Pelosi for setting this dangerous precedent and stand up for election integrity and the voters in Iowa’s Second Congressional District.”
