Rep. Barry Moore demands answers on discrimination against pro-life students

February 7, 2023

Washington, D.C. — This week, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) joined a letter to the Secretary of the Smithsonian led by Reps. Chip Roy (TX-21) and Josh Brecheen (OK-02) to demand answers regarding an incident of discrimination against pro-life students by Smithsonian employees at the Air and Space Museum. A group of students from South Carolina visiting during the March for Life were harassed by Smithsonian employees for wearing pro-life hats and asked to leave the museum. Video evidence of the incident can be seen here.

"The American people are sick and tired of being forced to subsidize organizations that persecute and discriminate against those paying their salaries,” said Moore. “If this institution wants to continue to receive federal support – currently over one billion dollars each year — they must respect the First Amendment rights of every American who wishes to enjoy their museums."
