Rep. Barry Moore applauds $2.5 billion Trump Administration investment in Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project
Washington, D.C.- Today, Congressman Barry Moore (AL-01) applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation’s approval of up to $2.52 billion in federal financing for the I-10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project. “From day one of representing Alabama’s First District, this project has been a top priority for me,” said Congressman Moore. “Today marks a milestone that many Alabamians have waited decades to see. I appreciate President Trump, Secretary Duffy, Susie Wiles, the Alabama delegation, and our state and local partners for working with us to make this project a reality. This investment will improve travel across our region and strengthen the Gulf Coast for generations to come.” The approval provides the Alabama Toll Road, Bridge and Tunnel Authority with access to up to $2.52 billion in federal TIFIA financing for the first phase of the project. The financing will help move the long-awaited Mobile River Bridge and Bayway improvements toward construction. The project will provide a new bridge across the Mobile River and expand the Bayway, improving the connection between Mobile and Baldwin County and strengthening a critical transportation route for Alabama's Gulf Coast. |
