Rep. Barry Moore announces FEMA disaster assistance approval
Washington, D.C. — Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) released the following statement after the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced additional disaster assistance available related to storms that battered the state on January 12, 2023.
"I'm pleased that our request for 100 percent federal share for debris removal and protective measures as a result of these terrible storms has been granted by FEMA,” said Moore. “I encourage Alabamians who might benefit from this order to apply with FEMA or to contact my office if we can be of assistance."
Under the order, Federal funds for debris removal and emergency protective measures has been increased to 100 percent of the total eligible costs for a 30-day period of the State’s choosing within the first 120 days of the incident period. Individuals in Autauga, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Mobile, Morgan, Sumter, and Tallapoosa Counties can apply with FEMA online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the application phone number at 1-800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585).
