Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. Barry Moore (AL-02) participated in a House Judiciary Committee hearing for the purposes of oversight of the Department of Justice. Attorney General Merrick Garland was the lone witness. Under his watch, Americans' approval rating of the Department of Justice (DOJ) has tanked to 36 percent. From Rep. Moore's exchange with AG Garland: Rep. Moore: ""Is it a crime in the United States to question an election?" AG Garland: "I think you are asking not a hypothetical, but something specific about--" Rep. Moore: "I think that's just in general, I don't think that's specific. Elections have been questioned in decades past -- is that a crime now in America?" AG Garland: "No, it is not a crime to question an election." Rep. Moore: "A lot of people in America questioned the election results in 2020, and they question the weaponization of the government attacking American citizens. You, sir, have an issue of [dis]trust with the American people." |
