The Moore You Know Newsletter: June 2021
The Moore You Know
Welcome to our June wrap-up newsletter. It’s been a hot summer in the Swamp, filled with plenty of partisan battles. From defending Second Amendment rights to confronting soaring inflation, I’m honored to represent you through it all.
Don’t miss out on our upcoming events! Please visit the Events page on our website to stay informed on all of our events in the district.
Sincerely,
Congressman Barry Moore
HIGHLIGHTS

Opposing Pelosi’s Partisan Political Circus
House Democrats’ January 6th Select Committee will be nothing but a turbo-charged partisan exercise, not an honest fact-finding body that the American people and Capitol Police deserve. If Speaker Pelosi was serious about investigating the January 6th riot, she would have already acted instead of pushing her partisan investigation closer and closer to next November’s elections.
Joining Rep. Boebert’s Bill to Censure President Biden
Since entering the White House, President Biden has recklessly reversed every Trump administration immigration policy - putting Americans and our economy at risk. From abolishing the Remain in Mexico policy to reimplementing catch and release, he has actively created chaos at our southern border. That’s why I proudly joined Congresswoman Lauren Boebert’s legislation to censure President Biden for his irresponsible inaction at the border. We must hold him accountable for abandoning the rule of law, weakening our national security, and putting Americans last.
Calling Out Biden’s Attack on Our Second Amendment Rights
Rather than supporting our police and holding criminals accountable, President Biden’s response to rising violent crime has been to come after law-abiding gun owners. I find his recent remarks incredibly troubling, as they reveal a complete misunderstanding of the relationship between a nation’s government and its people.
The Second Amendment is not a permission slip, but an assurance that no law will be enacted to strip the American people of our fundamental right to keep and bear arms. Rest assured, I will continue fighting for your Constitutional freedoms during my time in Congress.

Honoring Our Heroes
I was honored to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for The Landing, a new subdivision that will name roads after fallen soldiers from Enterprise. The four brave souls recognized throughout the property include: SGT Timothy M. Conneway, SPC Andrew Lee Hand, SPC Brendan P. Neenan, and ENS Joshua Kaleb Watson. May our community honor these heroes, remember their sacrifice, and never forget the price of freedom.

Tackling Veteran Homelessness
As the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity of the U.S. House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I led an oversight hearing on veteran homelessness in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The hearing included insightful testimony from various experts, such as Alabama’s Lula Skowronek with Veterans Priority.
We must commit to the difficult work of determining the right mix of programs and spending while performing the oversight necessary to ensure taxpayer dollars are being used effectively.

Online Town Hall
Thank you to everyone who joined our online town hall a few weeks ago! I had a wonderful time answering your questions and discussing some of the toughest challenges facing our country.
If you missed June’s online town hall, don’t worry! We’ll be hosting more online and in-person town halls over the next few months. Please visit the Events page on our website for more information.
