The Moore You Know Newsletter: July 2021
The Moore You Know
Welcome to our July wrap-up newsletter. From introducing legislation that improves veterans’ access to clothing allowance benefits to protesting Speaker Pelosi’s tyrannical mask mandate, it’s been a productive month in Washington. However, I’m thankful to be back in Sweet Home Alabama for the next several weeks!
We’re excited for our upcoming events throughout AL02. Please visit the Events page on our website to stay informed on all of our events in the district.
Sincerely,
Congressman Barry Moore
P.S. Please make sure you read all the way to the Events section below to learn more about the upcoming Veterans Workshop and Jobs Fair we’re hosting in Dothan in late August. This is exciting news you don’t want to miss!
HIGHLIGHTS
Helping Our Veterans
I’m proud to introduce the Mark O’Brien Clothing Allowance Improvement Act with Rep. Mike Levin. This bipartisan legislation helps veterans replace clothing that is routinely damaged by prosthetics, orthopedic devices, or skin medicines that they need as a result of active-duty injuries.
Our nation’s heroes shouldn't have to face repetitive red tape to receive the assistance they deserve. By removing burdensome hurdles, our bipartisan bill streamlines the process for our veterans to collect a clothing allowance.

Condemning Biden's $2 Billion Effort to Weaken Our Border Security
According to a recent report, at least $2 billion in taxpayer dollars have been spent on Department of Defense contractors to not build the border wall. Last week, I proudly joined 21 of my colleagues in sending a letter to President Biden regarding this willful negligence and fiscal irresponsibility. We must resume construction of the border wall, secure the southern border, enforce existing immigration laws, and put the American people first.

Standing with Freedom-Loving Cubans
Thousands of brave Cubans have taken to the streets to protest more than six decades of brutal oppression. As a beacon of hope and freedom around the world, the United States must support the Cuban people as they fight against socialist tyranny. It’s imperative that we unveil the harsh realities of socialism before the Left forces our nation down the same tragic path.
July Online Town Hall
Thank you to everyone who joined our online town hall this month! I’m truly blessed to serve AL02 in Congress and will continue finding ways to be transparent with folks back home. My good friend, Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, stopped by to answer some of your questions and share what led her to serve.
If you missed July’s online town hall, don’t worry! We’ll be hosting more online and in-person town halls over the next few months.
Meeting with Americans United for Life
I enjoyed meeting with Michael New and interns from Americans United for Life last week, where we discussed my efforts to protect the defenseless unborn. As a proud pro-life advocate, it’s encouraging to meet young folks passionate about defending human life!
Hosting Our First U.S. Service Academy Night
We had a great turnout at our first U.S. Service Academy Night! I believe these students' desire to serve our country is truly admirable, and I wish them the best of luck in their application process.
Seeking Fall 2021 Interns
Team Moore has been blessed with outstanding interns that have served AL02 well throughout the summer months. We’re now eager to find highly motivated individuals to intern in both our District and Washington, D.C. offices.

Visiting Bonnie Plant Farms
I had a blast at Bonnie Plant Farms in Union Springs, where I learned about their growing operations in Alabama and the company’s 100+ year history in AL02. The company already employs around 500 Alabamians and has been expanding rapidly over the past several years. I’m always grateful for the opportunity to meet with businesses across our district that have shown resiliency in the face of COVID-19.
