Welcome to our February newsletter!

This month, I opened my new offices in south Alabama and worked to put Americans first. I’m also proud to lead a bipartisan effort to help our farmers and small business owners. More on that below.

Making America safe again

The Jeremy and Angel Seay and Sergeant Brandon Mendoza Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act of 2025, passed the Judiciary Committee this month. This issue hits close to home for me. There was a newlywed couple from Enterprise named Angel and Jeremy Seay, who I knew personally. Angel and Jeremy were murdered by an illegal immigrant driving under the influence of alcohol. I am proud to be pushing legislation that helps make our families safe again.

Meeting the needs of Alabama farmers

I introduced the bicameral, bipartisan Forest Data Modernization Act with co-author Rep. Kim Schrier (D-WA). This legislation modernizes the technologies and data collection methods used by the Forest Inventory and Analysis Program to meet growing market demand and support sustainable forest management decisions. I am excited to introduce legislation that ensures foresters, forestry stakeholders, and the American public have access to standardized, high-quality data to support their decisions.

Reining-in reckless spending

I voted in favor of the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution. This budget resolution was a critical step towards putting Americans first. Through this vote, we will extend tax cuts for working families and small businesses, rescind harmful regulations on American energy, and rein-in reckless spending.

Welcoming a new AL-01 native to the team

I hired Benjamin Martin as Communications Director. Martin previously worked in the Texas State Senate before making his way to Washington where he served as Press Secretary for Rep. Robert Aderholt of Alabama. I'm proud to have Ben on our team. He is a native of our district who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to serving the people of Alabama.

New district office openings

My team and I opened three new district offices in Foley, Bay Minette, and Mobile. Please feel free to come by for help with a federal agency. Our district offices in Andalusia and Dothan remain open and are ready to serve you.

Economic Expansion in Mobile

I addressed the Mobile Chamber this month and was able to discuss the impact I've seen in the area since serving in the state legislature. We have seen incredible expansion with Austal, Airbus, and Novelis coming into town. I am excited as a small business owner to see the economy grow and help it continue to grow under Trump's America First policies.

Appreciating Alabama Veterans

Members of my staff were able to pass out Valentines to veterans in Enterprise and at the Bennie G. Adkins Veteran Home this month. I am honored to be able to serve these men and women. I am reminded of 1 John 4:19 during this season, "We love because he first loved us."
