The Moore You Know May 5 - May 19, 2023

All government officials take the same oath: to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and to faithfully discharge the duties of their office.

Since Alejandro Mayorkas became Homeland Security Secretary, there have been five million illegal encounters at our southern border, one million known got-aways, 85,000 unaccompanied minors lost by our government, and 120,000 deaths from the fentanyl pouring across.

There is no doubt Secretary Mayorkas has failed to do his job – but he has also blatantly lied about it. During multiple interviews and in testimony to Congress, Mayorkas repeatedly told the American people our border was secure. It is time to hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable for his failures and lies by impeaching him. This week, I joined my colleague Rep. Andy Biggs’ resolution calling for his immediate impeachment.

This National Police Week, I heard the stories of many officers across our country who gave their lives to protect others. These officers kiss their families goodbye every day knowing it could be the last time, not because they have to, but because they feel it is their duty to protect. In the last year, twelve officers from Alabama have made the ultimate sacrifice. This week and every week, remember to thank a law enforcement officer.

House Republicans passed legislation this week that memorializes fallen law enforcement officers, makes assaulting an officer a deportable offense for non-citizens, allows officers to buy back their service weapons after the weapon is retired, and condemns Democrat calls to defund the police. We will always back the Blue.

Recently, I joined Rep. Chip Roy’s “No Taxpayer Funding for the World Health Organization (WHO)” legislation.  The WHO praised China for their leadership at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and has done nothing to hold them accountable for the spread of COVID-19.

Taxpayer dollars should not be funding an organization that panders to the CCP and bankrolls woke gender ideology and abortion. The United States should not give a penny to the WHO until they’re able to work for our best interests.
