The Moore You Know March 10 - March 24th, 2023
Democrats spent the last seven years telling us that President Trump is a threat to our democracy. They also spent the last seven years orchestrating lie after lie in an attempt to eliminate him from politics. And why wouldn’t they? Until he ran for president, Americans didn’t realize that so many Washington bureaucrats were weaponized against them. The real threat to our democracy is the sham accusations they continue to use to try to put their chief political rival behind bars and preserve the swamp. Meanwhile, House Republicans are focused on fighting government weaponization, restoring our broken economy and securing our southern border – the issues Americans actually care about.

This week, the House Judiciary Crime Subcommittee held a joint hearing with the Oversight Committee regarding the ATF’s assault on our Second Amendment. Instead of apprehending violent criminals and securing our southern border to prevent fentanyl from pouring across, the Biden Administration’s ATF has chosen to come after law-abiding citizens using firearms for sporting and protecting their families. This includes their elimination of a plastic pistol brace that allows wounded warriors to safely shoot handguns. I spoke with the inventor of this brace, Alex Bosco, who created it after his friend with limited mobility was unable to use his handgun at a shooting range. It is difficult to comprehend why the Biden Administration is dedicating time and resources to outlawing a piece of plastic that helps disabled veterans shoot safely and accurately. Anyone caught with one of these braces after May 31, 2023 could be charged with a felony.

Passing a Farm Bill that works for the folks back home is a priority for me this Congress. Direct input from the farmers, ranchers, foresters and invested stakeholders on what should be included, excluded, or amended in the 2023 Farm Bill reauthorization helps me advocate for agricultural policy that works for Alabama’s Second Congressional District. I will be holding roundtable discussions with producers in Montgomery, Dothan, and Andalusia next month. If you are interested in joining one of these discussions, you can find more details on my events page at barrymoore.house.gov/about/events or call my Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-2901 to learn more. Attendees are encouraged to bring a hard copy of Farm Bill recommendations with contact information, so my staff and I have an opportunity to follow up with you after the roundtables are complete.
