The swamp strikes again

This week, the swamp struck again. I opposed the first half of a swamp omnibus monstrosity that will ultimately cost taxpayers $1.659 trillion. This legislation passed with more Democrat support than Republican, which tells you everything you need to know.

Representatives from both sides of the aisle will claim this legislation contained wins for the American people, but the truth is that most of the wins secured in the seven appropriations bills passed by House Republicans were surrendered.

This deal does not pass H.R. 2 to secure our southern border. It does not prohibit the construction of a new pentagon-sized FBI headquarters. The deal continues to fund the Department of Justice portion of the Biden Administration rule that expands asylum for migrants and allows taxpayer dollars to be used to represent illegal aliens at removal proceedings and fails to defund DOJ staff who refuse to comply with subpoenas. It also funds Biden’s climate change executive orders and his bogus WOTUS rule.

This omnibus also allows the VA to continue their COVID-19 vaccine mandate and use taxpayer funding for abortions and transgender surgeries.

Most importantly, this deal does not contain any of the previously negotiated spending cuts. The United States is $34 trillion in debt – more than $90,000 for every American.

Are you wondering what your $1.6 trillion paid for yet?

Here are just a few of the 600 pages and $12.6 billion in projects that your hard-earned money funded: four million dollars for an Urban Civil Rights Museum in New York City; $1 million for electric vehicle planning in Chicago; $2.5 million for mosquito suppression in Hawaii; and $4 million for an African American Cultural Center in California.

Will any of these projects be completed if we no longer have a country?

If we don’t get a handle on our ballooning national debt and secure our southern border, we are in serious trouble. During Biden’s presidency, more than eight million illegals have come across our southern border, and the cost of goods and services has risen by 17.9% percent.

That’s because Congress prints money in Washington to pay for increased spending and borrowing, which increases inflation. Republicans also lose leverage to negotiate wins.

If we're going to secure the border and get our spending under control, we must stop handing victories to Schumer and Biden that fail the American people.
