The Moore You Know December 31, 2022 - January 3, 2022
The 118th Congress has finally arrived, and House Republicans are already hard at work keeping our promises to the American people. In our first ten days, we passed legislation to defund President Biden’s army of new IRS agents, created a select committee to investigate the weaponization of the federal government that will hold the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other agencies accountable, created a subcommittee to fight back against the Chinese Communist Party, passed bills to protect life, and passed significant legislation to ensure the contents of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve is not sold to China. That’s a lot of work in a short window, but we are just getting started.

In September, President Biden condescendingly attacked President Trump for possessing documents that had been classified, saying he didn't know "how anyone could be that irresponsible" and questioned "what data was in there that may compromise sources and methods?" It turns out Biden was the one recklessly hoarding and misplacing classified documents. Some of these files found after he left the Vice President’s office included intelligence memos and briefings covering Iran, Ukraine and the U.K. While President Trump could declassify documents, that power is not vested in the position of Vice President. While the Department of Justice has appointed a special counsel, this is a serious matter, in no small part because we simply do not know where else, and what other documents, could be out there. I am hopeful Congress begins immediate investigations to get to the bottom of this issue.

The Department of Transportation continues having trouble under Secretary Pete Buttigieg. Since being elevated to this position from the top official of the small city of South Bend, Illinois, Mayor Pete has spent a lot of time traveling the nation to promote woke initiatives like “diversifying the aviation workforce” while the performance of the department has impacted millions of Americans. This is a real and important position, not a platform for a future presidential campaign, and we’re seeing real-world consequences for his neglecting the day-to-day of his job. The Federal Aviation Administration system that caused the recent grounding of almost every flight in the nation, NOTAM, was called the Notice to Air Men system until Mayor Pete took over the department. One of his early actions was changing its name to the woke-compliant Notice to Air Missions. Unfortunately, he did not take action to modernize the system. We need the Biden administration to take its responsibilities seriously and to remember that if you go woke, you go broke.
