I Beg Your Pardon, Mr. President

I beg your pardon, Mr. President, but this just won’t do. Joe Biden’s unconditional pardon of his son Hunter is a slap in the face to the American justice system. It is also an insult to every American who believes that people should be accountable for their actions. The same president who promised that “no one is above the law” has now used his office to shield his family from the consequences of years of corruption and dishonesty.

Hunter Biden engaged in corruption and influence-peddling that would land anyone else in prison. He pocketed millions from foreign entities, specifically a board seat with Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, despite having no qualifications for the post. His ties to oligarchs in Ukraine, Russia, and China filled Biden family bank accounts. Emails and financial records show Hunter cashed in on his father’s name, and the “big guy” benefitted.

Hunter’s crimes date back to 2014, the same year he joined Burisma and Joe Biden began shaping U.S. policy in Ukraine. This isn’t about redemption—it’s about Joe Biden shielding himself as Congress uncovers more evidence linking him to his son’s dirty business deals.

House Republicans worked tirelessly to expose this corruption. Subpoenas, whistleblower testimony, and committee investigations revealed $24 million funneled into Biden-linked accounts through shell companies. Emails tie President Biden directly to Hunter’s business, despite his repeated denials. These findings are the result of diligent oversight, not the partisan gamesmanship Democrats like to claim.

During a recent Judiciary Committee hearing, I questioned FBI Director Christopher Wray about the Bureau’s suppression of Hunter Biden’s laptop. Why did the FBI spend millions burying this damning evidence while aggressively pursuing Trump over far less? Wray’s evasive answers highlighted the Swamp’s double standard: Rules for thee and not for me. Contrast this with President Trump, who was impeached for even daring to ask Ukraine’s president to investigate these exact dealings. Trump didn’t receive the benefit of a single shred of doubt or a sympathetic media. Instead, he faced an impeachment circus for a phone call. Yet here we are, years later, with Hunter Biden’s crimes laid bare—and what does Joe Biden do? He wipes it all away with a stroke of a pen.

While Hunter gets a clean slate, Trump faced a barrage of indictments for alleged crimes that pale in comparison. Trump questioned election results and was indicted. Trump was accused of retaining documents and he was indicted while multiple former Presidents and Vice Presidents did the same thing. Meanwhile, Hunter falsified federal forms, dodged taxes, and profited off his father’s office. Instead of accountability, he gets a pardon.

What is Joe Biden hiding? Hunter’s years of cashing foreign checks implicate a vice president-turned-president who enabled and benefited from them. This isn’t justice—it’s a cover-up.

I beg your pardon, President Biden, but this is an abuse of power and a betrayal of public trust. Joe Biden didn’t just pardon his son—he pardoned himself and a system rigged for the powerful. No one is above the law? Apparently, the Biden family is.

I look forward to working with President Trump to ensure that our justice system works for every American and no one is above the law.
