The Moore You Know Column: March 8 - 19
Since the start of the 117th Congress, Democrats have shamelessly proven that they’re determined to trample on the values and freedoms we hold dear. First, they came after your religious liberties and fair elections. This time, your Second Amendment rights are on the chopping block.
Two gun-grabbing bills passed the House with disturbing ease - despite the blatant attempts of Democrats to forestall law-abiding citizens of their right to keep and bear arms. For example, H.R. 8 requires background checks for certain temporary transfers of a firearm. Depending on the situation, simply handing a gun to another individual is considered a punishable offense.
Under this liberal legislation, a farmer that lends a firearm to his neighbor to euthanize a severely injured animal could now be a criminal.
As a proud gun owner, I find these egregious attacks on our Second Amendment rights unconstitutional and dangerous. I will never stop fighting for your freedoms, including your ability to defend yourself and your family.

Last month, 100,441 illegal immigrants entered the southern border. To put that alarming number in perspective, that’s more than the population of Dothan, Wetumpka, and Andalusia combined. It’s also an astonishing 173% increase from February of last year.
Despite these concerning numbers, Democrats are still refusing to call this situation for what it really is: a crisis.
In fact, they spent last week ramming through a partisan immigration bill that would provide amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Incentivizing bad behavior does nothing to address the national security, public health, and humanitarian catastrophe at the southern border.
Overwhelming our immigration system with an astronomical, yet widely unknown number of illegal immigrants places unnecessary burdens on the American people. Whether it’s your job or your hard-earned taxpayer dollars, this massive overhaul will end up costing you.
No matter how hard he tries to ignore the chaos, this crisis is on President Biden’s hands.

One year ago, the coronavirus triggered disastrous lockdown measures that devastated small businesses, weakened our economy, and forced millions of Americans to sacrifice their livelihoods.
Thankfully, President Trump showcased significant leadership by initiating Operation Warp Speed. Due to his efforts, the United States developed COVID-19 vaccines in record-breaking time. Undeterred by his loud critics, Trump fought to reopen our economy, small businesses, and schools.
Since then, we’ve seen strong comebacks from states like Texas, Florida, and the great state of Alabama. Based on its job and production numbers, Alabama has the fifth-best "back to normal" ranking in the nation. While there is still progress to be made, this exciting news reveals our state is on a promising path.
Clearly, red states have the right idea.
