The Moore You Know August 18th – August 30th
Border crisis boiling point
This week, it was revealed that more than a dozen immigrants, from Uzbekistan and other countries that were allowed into the US after seeking asylum at the southern border had the help of a human smuggler with ties to ISIS. The FBI is scrambling to figure out the location of these individuals and what threats they may pose to Americans.
Even CNN admitted these incidents are a problem by noting that, “The US is deeply vulnerable to the possibility that terrorists could sneak across the southern border by hiding amid the surge of migrants entering the country in search of asylum.” Just this year, there have been 1.7 million known got-aways at our southern border.
When CNN is admitting it, you know we have a serious problem. And the only thing we have heard from President Biden and “Border Czar” Harris is silence. Americans deserve better. House Republicans passed H.R. 2, the “Secure the Border Act,” to stop this nonsense. H.R. 2 would end Biden’s catch-and-release policy, increase the number of border agents and their salary, strengthen existing law to prevent children from being trafficked, and force the Biden Administration to restart construction on the southern border wall. I urge the Senate to pass this legislation and get us one step closer to ending this crisis.
