Rep. Barry Moore Supports FY26 Appropriations bill to protect taxpayers and bolster national security

January 30, 2026

Washington D.C. –  Today, Congressman Barry Moore (AL-01) released the following statement supporting the House’s passage of H.R. 7006, the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2026:

“Today, I proudly voted in favor of H.R. 7006, a bipartisan appropriations package that responsibly funds essential government functions for Fiscal Year 2026 and demonstrates House Republicans' commitment to serve the American people," said Congressman Moore. "This bill ensures key federal departments and agencies have the resources they need to operate effectively and safeguard our financial systems, strengthen national security, and support critical government operations and international programs."

The Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2026 will:

  • Drive economic growth, support U.S. financial systems, and invest in technology innovation.
  • Protect taxpayers from government overreach and reaffirm core rights by prohibiting the IRS from targeting individuals for exercising their First Amendment rights, maintaining critical pro-life riders, and supporting a fair and unbiased judicial system.
  • Bolster U.S. national security and border protections by protecting Americans from deadly drugs like fentanyl, equipping Treasury with tools to enhance cybersecurity and stop adversaries from hacking our nation's critical infrastructure.
  • Restore fiscal sanity and protects taxpayer dollars by identifying underutilized federal office spaces to lower costs and cut wasteful spending.
